Life Lately (April)

I got a part time job working for L&B Transport and my first project was to recreate a booklet for the company.  I really had no idea what I was doing when I started so I had to learn how to use the program and then take pictures and print the book.
Sweet Cason

Kaden helped Papa in his garden and they were showing me their muscles

April 13th, (while Kaden was in Shreveport for his archery competition) Grace and I went to see Swan Lake at the River Center Theatre.
The performance was really pretty!!

April 18th Grace had a consultation to get her braces
The weekend of April 19th was the Flourish Women's conference in Pearl River.

We celebrated Hudson's 15th birthday at Buffalo Wild Wings

We started staking out our property and doing a little bit of clearing

I started making changes to our house plans that we ordered.  There wasn't a tub in the Master so we made the 4th bedroom smaller and it became an office.
Grace had a new litter of bunnies born
Doing lots of work on the property.  They started clearing the trees to make the road so we could all access our lots.

Kaden is really good at driving the tractor
They cut lots and lots of stakes!!

Finally have all the tress removed to start making a road!
Boiled crawfish is always a family favorite

We have a yearly tradition of going to the Kite Fest in Port Allen
Johnny got kites for the kids and met us at the field to fly them

Grace wanted to make her own kite

They had a contest and she entered with her kite
She got a "participation award" 😊

Enjoying the nice weather!  Cason loves to go for rides on the golf cart
We went to eat at a Mexican restaurant in Zachary and they had pictures on the wall of the Mexican Bingo game that we play every year for Christmas at Maw Maw's house.  It's always a joke when we pull the drunk man card that they reference Paw Paw for his bad habit of drinking so Grace wanted to send a picture to Maw Maw.

Selling our house!!

We finally decided to post our house for sale.  Dad and Mom donated land to each of the kids.

I made a flyer and posted it on Facebook on March 18th.  We got several calls that afternoon and the next day.  We showed it 3 times by ourselves and then got a call from Hunter Monson that he wanted to see the house, and he sounded very interested. We showed the house to him on March 20th and signed a purchase agreement on March 24th.  We were originally asking $495,000.00 and signed the purchase agreement at $479,000.00.

We had to shove all kinds of stuff in the car when people came over for showings.

We did some work to prepare the house for showings.  Mario pressure washed the shower to get rid of the lime on the tile.
I did lots of caulking and touch up painting!
These are the pictures we used for the flyer

The closing process went pretty fast and we got our check on April 10th.

Our last picture at our house.  We had lots of great memories here, but we are looking forward to a new chapter in our lives.
Dad and Mom allowed us to stay in the brown camp on the property.  Grace stayed with Papa and Nana at their house and Kaden stayed with us.
This is the "before" pictures
We cleaned it before moving in

The first night there, the toilet backed up
All moved in on April 10th.  It was a super busy weekend since it was Grace's birthday weekend.

It actually came out really cozy and we are grateful to have a place to stay while we build.
